Frequently Asked Questions

1. Which areas will be treated?

We put a powder in the roof baits as well for rodent treatments, spray all skirting and cornice in all the rooms then spray the outside of your house including all doors, windows, gutters, external of house, gardens, eaves, fences, outbuildings, garages, etc.

2. Are the chemicals used toxic?

The chemicals we use have very low toxicity similar to table salt so they are pet/child friendly so they won’t harm you, pets or children. The inside chemical has no smell at all just the outside does but not for long

3. Does the spray affect humans?

No, the chemicals can be used safely in your home as we use the same chemicals in child care centres, nursing homes and hospitals.

4. How long to I need to leave for?

If you are having a general pest treatment done you don’t need to leave unless you want to as the chemicals have a very low toxicity so they won’t harm you. If you are having rodent treatment done you do not need to leave.

5. Do I need to take my pets away?

You don’t need to remove your pets as we can work with you to arrange for them to be away from the area I’m treating. If you have a cat they will leave on their own accord. Fish tanks and bird cages should be covered with a sheet or towel.

6. How long does the treatment take?

This is highly dependent on the size of the property being treated, but usually a general pest treatment may take around an hour with a rodent treatment taking about 30 minutes. A more specific time can be provided upon making a booking.

7. How long will the treatment take to work?

Depending on what type of pest problem you are having, it can take anywhere from immediately to upto 4 weeks. This is regarded as a control period, and will be clarified at the time of your booking.

8. Do I need to prepare anything before my treatment?

If you are having a rodent treatment, you do not need to prepare anything. If you are having a general pest treatment you should put all food items away, including cookware, crockery and cutlery. Externally, all clothes should be removed from the clothesline, all windows closed and pet bowls turned over. The technician will advise if there are any other requirements on the day.

9. What if it rains on the day of my treatment?

If the weather is not permitting on the day of the treatment, you will receive a phone call from our office before the scheduled appointment time and the treatment will be rescheduled.

10. Rodent Treatments - Will I find dead rats and mice everywhere?

No. 95 percent of the time they will die outside the house. However if you get a rotten smell inside your house most likely a rodent has died in the roof so give us a call and we can come back out and remove it and deodorize the roof. (charges apply)

11. How often should I have my home treated?

We recommend that you have your home treated for ants and spiders every 12 months in order to keep your property safe. Some customers choose to have a treatment every 6 months to ensure complete protection.

12. What is involved in a termite inspection?

Our experienced technician will inspect your entire home and exterior for termites. On average an inspection will take 1-2 hours, and the technician will complete a report on all of his findings. You will receive it either on the spot or by email.

Firstly keep all children and pets away. Do not block hole where the bees or wasps are entering and do not try and treat yourself. Call us as we treat these as an urgent job.

16. Do you offer same day service?

No. But if you have a problem with either bees or wasps we do our utmost to get to you on the same day. Reason for not same day service is as we usually are booked with our regular clients in advance for at least a day or more ahead.

17. Will the bait used for rats and mice affect my pets or children?

No. We place all the baits were they won’t be able to get to or they will be put into lockable bait stations that they won’t be able to get into.
